Jon Vickers was born in 1929 and is a Canadian HeldenTenor,in 1950 he was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. He had about 3 years at the royal opera house Covent Garden, then joined the Metropolitan Opera. He was well known for his wonderfull characterisations, and of course his big powerful voice filled the needs of many French, German and Italian roles. On to the Music !
